Taking Golf To The Next Level

The game of golf takes years and years of practice to be good at. Some people started when they were kids, growing up with a golf club. Others began playing golf knowing it is more than just a sport, that it can be a crucial key to business meetings, and socializing. After mastering the game of golf, golfers intend to have a little fun, learn tricks that, even though it is impractical, but it became a good way demonstrating ones abilities of skill and control on the golf clubs and the ball. Trick shots became a sensation over the media platforms, people started making youtube videos of trick shots on a wide varieties of sport, golf was one of them. Brodie Smith and Dude Perfect were a few people that became successful for producing trick shot videos. There are countless of trick shots that golfers came up with that involves advance skills and abilities. Below is James, a friend of mine performing trick shots with golf.

 

 

A Guide to Good Sportsmanship

There’s a reason such huge numbers of inspirational speakers use sports as a representation for life. There are incalculable parallels between what it takes to be effective both in real life, and on the playing field. The characteristics of assurance, ability, and diligent work add to a man’s shot of winning in both of the fields.

Great sportsmanship incorporates numerous parts of a person’s character. A great sportsman regards the respect for his/her teammates as well as the opposing competitors, and to treat each other as equal and, plays with honesty and integrity. To be modest in his victories, and has the best possible viewpoint on his misfortunes. To be unselfish in his craving to see every one of his teammates participate and appreciate the amusement. These are what it takes to achieve a good sportsmanship. So, the characteristics that go in to making a decent man are similar ones that add to being an incredible sportsman.

The History of Golf

Golf is a club and ball sport in which players utilize different types of clubs to hit a ball into a series of holes with a wide varieties of courses, competitors are to compete for the lowest number of strokes and to get the ball in to the hole.

Millions of people around the world plays golf every day for numerous of purposes. For centuries, golf became a popular sport among young and old people, and both men and women. Golf started long ago with people using wooden sticks and pebbles. As the world advance, so did golf, with the technology nowadays, golf industries are able to design high quality clubs to fit anybody’s height, size of hand, and different types of posture.

People believed golf started from a game played on the eastern shore of Scotland in the Kingdom of Fife during the fifteenth century. Players would hit a rock around a course of sand dunes, rabbit runs and tracks by using a stick.

The origins of golf are indistinct and much discussed. Nonetheless, it is commonly acknowledged that modern golf was found in Scotland from the Middle Ages. The amusement did not discover worldwide fame until the late nineteenth century, when it spread into the United Kingdom and afterward to the British Empire and the United States.

Paganica

From the golf earliest origins, it was traced back to the Roman game of paganica. It is a type of sport that participants uses a wooden stick to make contact with a stuffed leather ball.

Chuiwan

Later a game similar to the concept of golf was discovered in China during the Song Dynasty called Chuiwan. A Chinese scholar suggested that the game should be introduced to Europe.

Around 1457, the Scottish Parliament passed several acts banning the sport, along with other sports, due to the interference with the military practice, which at the time was necessary for national securities. Around 1500, James IV himself lifted the ban and became a golfer himself. The sport of golf then became a proud and well-known sport in Scotland. The oldest golf course is also located in Scotland on Musselburgh Links, East Lothian. It is still a popular site that many golf still visits.

Different Types of Clubs

Woods. Modern day woods are now made with different types of metals, originally it was made from wood. Woods or drivers are for long distance shots from fairway and the tee. They are designed with a long shaft and a large head, enabling a strong impact for the maximum ball speed and distance. A typical golf set features two to three woods including the so-called driver and fairway woods. Obviously the fairway woods is to be used for the fairway shots, and the driver is for teeing off.

Irons. Used for to strike the ball from fairway towards the green, irons are for distance from 130 yards to 200 yards. Irons are regularly numbered from 1 to 9, with shafts getting logically shorter, loft angles higher and club heads heavier.

Hybrids. A.k.a the utility clubs, hybrids are used to get out of the rough, for example to get beneath the bushes, trees, and other possible obstacles around the fairway that is in the way. A lot of golfers today replace irons with hybrids, and uses them for fairway shots.

Wedges. It can be similar to the irons, but it hasĀ it’s own sub-category. Wedges can be categorized as pitching wedge, sand wedge, and so on. All these different designs are for specific situations. Wedges are designed to achieve short distance shots with high accuracy.

Putter. Is used for the game winning shot, the last shot on the green. The putter’s design is to roll the golf ball as accurate towards the direction as possible.
